     Melissa M. Hunt

In 2009, Melissa founded Schneider & Hunt, P.A. with James Schneider. Melissa believed that in starting her own practice, she could be more effective in helping people deal with a variety of legal issues. Schneider & Hunt, P.A. has allowed Melissa to fully realize her passion for helping people at all levels of litigation and protection.

Melissa worked at Long, Reher & Hanson, P.A. as an elder law clerk from 2008 to 2009.  She also served as the law clerk to the Minnesota State Bar Association's Elder Law Council from 2007 to 2008.  Ms. Hunt worked with Professor A. Kimberley Dayton as a research assistant from 2007 to 2008 and prior to that worked as a law clerk and paralegal under Charles Keenan at Christoffel & Elliott, P.A from 2004 to 2008.

In her free time, Melissa enjoys spending time with her friends and family.  She is an avid reader of books of all kinds, especially historical fiction.  She is also on a Breast Cancer 3-Day team and participated in the 3-Day in September of 2008.

Melissa received the MSBA Elder Law Section Award for Student Services in the Fall of 2008
Melissa was recently mentioned in an article in the  Elder Policy Post 
 

   James Schneider

James founded Schneider & Hunt with Melissa Hunt. His background in business gives him a solid understanding of business practices which allows him to appreciate the needs of business clients of all sizes. In addition to his legal and business backgrounds James is a registered rule 114 neutral. This training allows him to think outside the litigation box in an effort to solve problems without going to court. 

James's experience includes interning at the Dallas County District Attorneys Office and working in the Mayo Clinic legal department.

James regularly participates in the Larkin Hoffman MS 150 Bike ride to help raise funds and support for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
